I was delighted to meet with Rail Minister, Wendy Morton MP today to discuss Eastleigh's Bid for the Headquarters of Great British Railways.
The competition is now open and I am now working with our local Councils and the Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to put forward a compelling and attractive bid.
Eastleigh would be the perfect home for Great British Railways. We have a rich history as a railway town and our transport links are excellent. I also believe locating Great British Railways in Eastleigh would help regenerate our town centre and bring well paid, highly skilled jobs to Eastleigh.
This is an opportunity we must seize.
