Paul questions the Government's decision to delay local elections

The Labour Government laid the groundwork to cancel local elections across the country for a second year in a row. 

In a statement to the House I criticised this move as opportunistic, cynical and deeply concerning. The Government has no mandate to do this, and their decision undermines our democracy.

I oppose this shambolic decision making, and I am calling for urgent clarity on the Government’s plans.
