I am pleased to announce that the appeal to build six houses next door to the Pear Tree Inn at Boorley Green, has been rejected by the Planning Inspectorate.
This decision comes after objections were raise by numerous residents and myself as part of the planning process.
As I said in my letter to the Council, the Pear Tree Inn is the only public house in Boorley Green, and is one of the few pubs in the area to have a garden for leisure use. It is also locally listed and of historical value.
The area they wanted to develop also acts as a green space between adjoining properties in an area that has become extensively over-developed.
If this site was developed it would have been a huge loss to the character and facilities of the Pear Tree Inn and Boorley Green.
So the rejection of the appeal is great news and will finally give residents peace of mind, and I look forward to heading down for a celebratory drink soon!
Best wishes to Molly and the team.
